We're just under the upperhand

Who am I?   page

"It is beyond our comprehension, but inescapably true, that from all eternity Christ looked forward to the Cross, which He would one day endure “for the joy that was set before him” (Heb:12:2). Significantly, the book that decides the fate of the damned is called the book of life “of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Rev:13:8). In the unthinkable but inevitable horror of man’s murder of God’s Son, the real face of evil was unmasked, the true heart of man—“deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked” (Jer:17:9)—was laid bare, and God’s eternal justice and love were demonstrated beyond dispute for all eternity to ponder. In the crime of all ages, man despised, rejected, humiliated, scourged, and nailed his Creator to a cross. Thus the rebellion of self hidden in the human heart—the raw passion to tear God from His throne if possible—was revealed, and God’s loving response silenced all legitimate complaint."

Its 2013. I’ve been alive for 15 years and never-had cancer-broken a bone-been sick-been stolen from-gotten a C in any class-been in trouble with the law-ruined my lifeor anything. Its pretty good right now. Time to be happy about life and recognize from whom it all comes.

Maybe you should give credit where it’s due.
Either your God is responsible for all those good things AND for these children’s plight. OR the reason you’ve been so lucky is because of where you live and who your family is. Either way don’t forget that while you’re this lucky there are hundreds of millions of people who are suffering horribly and will die in agony.

You must be angry about something. Is there anything I can help you with?

Or perhaps I am trying to help you? Perhaps I think you’re ignoring a fundamentally important aspect of reality? You can choose to look at my response as angry and hostile, or you can look at the thoughts presented. The information. You can choose to believe that God has singled you out for blessings, rationalize some special reasons for that. You can rationalize that somehow You are more special and deserving of special treatment than those children who are born into abject poverty in impossible circumstances. Throw your hands in the air and proclaim divine province and go about your life and ignore the cognitive dissonance caused by the knowledge that they are no better or worse than you and the fact that the only reason you are so blessed is where you were born and to whom. Or you can think about the implications of divine province over that situation. God allowing some people to be born into blessed circumstances while condemning others to suffering from birth. What really does that say about a divine being that would do that? Or maybe there’s not a God directing these things and we can change these things. *shrugs* Anger isn’t my motivation. Empathy and an interest in helping others examine alternative possibilities, and boredom on the other hand. :) That I’m probably guilty of.

You still sound mad. It doesn’t affect me whether you believe or not, but let some of that negativity go… it tends to do me well
